Measurement

How Abtal measures promotions

Every number in a promotion report follows the same plain definitions. They are designed to be honest to advertisers and respectful of the members who see the ads.

Impression
Counted once a sponsored card has been at least half visible on screen for one full second. A card that is merely loaded, or scrolled past, is not an impression.
Click
Counted when a viewer follows the card to the job. Clicks from crawlers, automated tools and repeated taps on the same card are filtered out as invalid traffic and never billed or reported.
Click-through rate (CTR)
Valid clicks divided by valid impressions for the same period and placement.
Application
An application to the promoted job that followed a click, counted only for members who allowed ad measurement in their cookie preferences. Members who did not are never counted, so this figure is a floor, not a total.
Breakdowns
Reports split numbers by what viewers searched for — specialty, country and city — and, in the home feed, by interface language and profile country, plus the first declared specialty of members who opted in on Settings → Ads.
Reporting days
Daily figures are composed in the advertiser organization's time zone. The fresh rollup runs every few minutes; a nightly integrity pass reconciles the day's counts.
Typical CTR (benchmark)
The median click-through rate across promotions in a placement over the last 30 days, published only when enough promotions with enough impressions contribute — so no single advertiser's numbers can be inferred.

What Abtal never collects

  • A viewer's identity, account, IP address or device fingerprint in any promotion record.
  • A viewer's location — Abtal does not track where members are.
  • Interest or behaviour profiles of members; ads are matched on the search or the profile country, nothing else.

Retention

Raw impression and click records are kept for six months and then deleted; only aggregated daily totals remain. Beacon nonces used to detect duplicate counting are purged after eight days. Application attribution keeps no viewer identity and is deleted with the promotion's telemetry.
